“Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong.”
– Ella Fitzgerald

Vibrant School Culture

The Girls Prep Middle School community lives by four core values:

Scholarship, Merit, Citizenship and Responsibility

  • Girls Prep students learn to be active citizens as well as scholars. Teachers treat students with compassion and fairness and help students to use the same behavior with their peers. We have found that our supportive and well-rounded learning environment produces incredible results.

High Expectations for Behavior

  • Our girls treat each other as sisters. We teach them to support and help each other, solve their problems together and take responsibility for their mistakes.
  • We have a school-wide Choice and Consequence discipline system. Students who fail to live up to expectations face the consequence of restricted lunch or study hall with the principal, a parent conference or school suspension depending on the severity of the student's behavior. In all cases, students are required to reflect on their choices and make a plan of action that will lead to better decisions in the future.
  • Students are recognized for exceptional behavior and character as well. Through weekly morning meetings and quarterly character awards, students are honored for their personal progress and hard work.

Unity Meetings

  • Weekly meetings bring together the entire Girls Prep community. Unity Meetings are led by the principal and teachers and help to focus our school community on a thought for the day related to our core values.

Service Projects

  • Service projects help students grow into active citizens in our community. Each grade will identify a service area and work with the non-profit service organization Children for Children to become an agent for change.
  • Our middle school students also help our younger elementary school sisters in carrying out their service project.

Entrepreneur Program

  • Each middle school grade runs its own school-based business. Each grade, following the principles of business development, will conduct market research, identify a need in the school or surrounding community and create business that serves a need.
