Our Public Prep Schools
Girls Prep Lower East Side Elementary School
Girls Prep LES is the first all-girls charter school in New York City. Our outstanding results led our founders to create the Public Prep Network.
Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle School
The Girls Prep Middle School builds on the strong foundation of our elementary school. We prepare our students to graduate from college and succeed in life.
Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School
Girls Prep Bronx is a new charter school that opened in the South Bronx in the fall of 2009. Our school is a replication of Girls Prep Lower East Side.
Boys Prep Elementary School
In Spring 2010, Public Prep was granted its third charter from SUNY's Charter Schools Institute, in order to open its first all-boys school — the Boys Preparatory Charter School of New York. We are currently accepting applications for the Founding Principal position.

Families as Partners
The relationship between home and school is central to each child’s success. At Girls Prep Middle School, we partner with families to provide maximum support to our students.
Every year begins with a home visit by the student's teachers. This initial visit allows families and teachers to establish a relationship before the school year begins.
- Our full-time Director of Student and Family Affairs dedicates her time to answering family questions or concerns.
- Girls Prep encourages family involvement. Families are welcome to visit or volunteer any time. We aim to have an active PTA, and each classroom will have a family representative.
- Each quarter we hold Curriculum Nights in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. Content area teachers provide parents with an overview of what will be taught that quarter, and give guidance on homework help studying for tests.
- Girls Prep Middle School hosts a variety of school-wide family events such as picnics, movie nights and breakfasts. We also host informational workshops for parents.
- Each girl has a homework folder that she carries to and from school every day. This folder allows families and teachers to communicate easily and often about their daughter's progress.
- All families have cell phone number of the school principal and teachers return phone calls within 36 hours and usually much faster.
