LOWER EAST SIDE, MANHATTAN, NY (November 21, 2019):
Girls Prep Lower East Side Elementary was featured in Pearle Vision’s new campaign for a mobile eye care program called ABSEE after receiving a donation of vision screenings and over 50 pairs of glasses from Pearle Vision, global vision care non-profit, One Sight, and our Namesake and supporter Billie Jean King. Pearle Vision and One Sight brought their mobile eye care center complete with an exam room and glasses retail floor to the Girls Prep Lower East Side campus.
Through this activity we were able to identify scholars who were in need of a pair of glasses or a new prescription. 1 out of every 4 school-aged kids has an undiagnosed vision issue and we are grateful to Pearle Vision, One Sight, and Billie Jean King’s donation that will ensure that our scholars are getting the vision support that they need.
