CORE VALUES & MISSION
Our staff, scholars, and families are guided by four core values; Scholarship, Excellence, Community, and Integrity. Each day our boys walk into classrooms named after inspiring and courageous leaders. Our namesakes are beacons of possibility for our scholars and represent all that they’re capable of achieving.
Public Prep classrooms are designed to create optimal conditions for learning. We believe in investing time and resources to teach and support social-emotional skills that build strong social and academic habits that our well-rounded scholars will carry with them into their college and career beyond Public Prep.
We harness the unique strengths and address the specific needs of young men during critical, formative years. Single-gender education provides a tailored environment that empowers our scholars to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By focusing on the developmental and learning styles specific to boys, we cultivate an atmosphere that encourages confidence, fosters leadership and nurtures individual talents.
Our dedicated approach allows for targeted teaching strategies that engage boys in active, hands-on learning, and critical thinking. It removes societal pressures and distractions, enabling students to explore their interests freely and develop a strong sense of self-worth. We emphasize the importance of character education, responsibility, and brotherhood, preparing our young men to become leaders of tomorrow.
Boys Prep Bronx offers extracurriculars and sports designed to enrich the educational experience of its scholars. We place a strong emphasis on holistic development, providing opportunities for growth beyond the traditional classroom setting. Boys at the school can participate in a variety of activities like basketball to hone teamwork and coordination skills. For those into the arts, dance, and art programs foster creativity and self-expression. Boys Prep Bronx also offers instrumental music classes, allowing scholars to explore their musical talents and develop a deeper appreciation. Through these extracurriculars, our school not only nurtures well-rounded individuals but also instills values of discipline, cooperation, and creativity in its scholars.
The brotherhood cultivated at Boys Prep Bronx school transcends the school years, extending into the lives of our alumni. The strong bonds formed create a lifelong network of support and camaraderie. Alumni often find themselves connected through shared experiences, values, and memories, fostering a sense of belonging and solidarity. This enduring brotherhood is foundational to personal and professional growth, offering a support system that extends into many facets of life. From navigating career paths and seeking advice to simply connecting with like-minded individuals, our brotherhood promotes a strong community and deep mutual respect. This enduring bond strengthens personal connections and helps alumni navigate life's challenges with the unwavering support of their fellow BPBX brothers.
We understand that each of our boys has unique needs and strengths. It is our commitment to provide a personalized education that truly fits your child. Whether your scholar is an English Language Learner, advanced in their coursework, requires an Individualized Education Program (IEP), or has unique social/emotional needs, we are equipped to support them. Our approach is inclusive and adaptive, ensuring every student receives the attention and resources they need to be their best.
LEADERSHIP
These are the dynamic leaders driving our commitment to provide all of our boy scholars with transformative educational experiences at Public Prep’s Boys Prep Bronx public charter school academy.
Public Prep’s curriculum ensures rigorous, culturally responsive, and critically conscious instruction that teaches children to engage in critical thinking about complex and socially relevant ideas. Our curriculum provides opportunities to build student independence and access their creative expression.
At both the elementary and middle school levels, Boys Prep scholars engage in an approach that thoughtfully builds independence and empowers them to take ownership of their learning and goals. We believe in a balanced approach that builds a solid foundational skill set for all scholars, sparks curiosity and cultivates a joy for and love of learning.
